Bathampton Down Circuit

Batheaston loop from Widcombe
by Nigel WhiteoakA gentle loop from Bath's Widcombe village out to Batheaston along the canal, returning along the river with good food and drink options both at the start and midway.
Bathwick Hill from Widcombe
by Nigel WhiteoakA beautiful walk from Widcombe village up onto Bathwick hill for stunning views over Bath, returning via Prior Park, Widcombe Manor and St Thomas a Becket church. Although there are some hills to climb, this walk is very rewarding for the effort involved.
Canal and River Loop from Widcombe

Circuit of Bear Flat

Circuit of Lansdown Hill
by Nigel WhiteoakA varied figure-of-eight loop around the Lansdown Hill, taking in stretches alongside the golf and race courses, through woodland and fields. With great views across to Bristol and Wales, this route treads part of the site of the Civil War's Battle of Lansdowne, with informations boards explaining some of the history.
Devonshire Arms Short Loop
by Nigel WhiteoakA short excursion starting from the Devonshire Arms that quickly feels rural in nature for being so close to the centre of Bath. Good views back down to the city and charming woodlands in Lyncombe Vale.
Devonshire Tunnel Loop

Iford and Freshford from Limpley Stoke
by Nigel WhiteoakA beautiful and varied walk through the villages of Limpley Stoke, Freshford and Westwood, passing the stunning Iford Manor. A variety of good cafes along the route, and the wonderful Hop Pole Inn at its start and finish make this a favourite of the author.

Linear Park, Riverside and Lyncombe Vale
by Nigel WhiteoakA green route starting in Bloomfield Green, walking along the Two Tunnels linear park to the riverside, then returning steeply up to Lyncombe Hill and back via Lyncombe Vale. This route is surprisingly green for being so close to the centre of Bath, but does involve a steep climb up towards the top of Alexandra Park.
Midford to Tucking Mill and Back

Monkton Combe and Southstoke from Combe Down

Newton Park from Newton Farm

Rainbow Woods
